Job Description

This role oversees the engineering operations of a large Class A commercial property, ensuring all building systems, maintenance programs, and safety standards are executed with excellence. The position requires a hands‑on leader who can manage staff, guide contractors, oversee budgets, and maintain full compliance with all regulatory requirements. Ideal candidates bring strong technical expertise, proven leadership experience, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to tenants and stakeholders.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and supervise engineering staff, including scheduling, training, safety management, and daily operations for a large Class A commercial property.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs, building systems performance, capital projects, and compliance with Local, State, and Federal codes.
  • Manage operational budgets, financial reporting, payroll oversight, contract negotiations, and vendor performance.
  • Coordinate construction activities, review plans, maintain building documentation, and ensure accurate inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment.
  • Support senior property management through tenant relations, owner reporting, and recommending technology or system upgrades.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required; 5+ years managing Class A high‑rise properties (500,000+ sq ft) and 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Universal‑certified HVAC technician with hands‑on engineering knowledge and the ability to train others.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, OSHA safety standards, mechanical systems, and problem‑solving through data analysis.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, organization, and multitasking skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Professional affiliations (BOMA, SMT/SMA) preferred; integrity, responsiveness, and teamwork essential.
