Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-semester contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students in an educational setting located in merce City, CO. This role requires a professional with expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) to facilitate clear and effective munication between Deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their teachers and peers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and clear sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, school activities, and meetings.
• Collaborate with educators, students, and support staff to ensure effective munication access.
• Assist in creating an inclusive learning environment that supports the academic and social development of students who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and ethical practices in interpretation.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with certification preferred.
• Experience interpreting in K-12 educational settings is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of Deaf culture and munication needs of students.
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators and support teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and munication skills.
