Department of Conservation and Recreation The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) protects, promotes, and enhances our natural, cultural, and recreational resources. DCR manages more than 450,000 acres of parks, forests, water supplies, beaches, lakes, playgrounds, swimming pools, skating rinks, trails, golf courses, and parkways. DCR’s staff is passionate, dedicated, and continuously employs best practices to support our mission. Duties Manages, supervises, and coordinates the operation and maintenance of recreational facilities including rinks, swimming pools, wading pools, or spray decks. Supervises Recreation Facilities Supervisor I staff and other rink staff such as Laborers, Facility Service Workers, and Summer Workers. Ensures efficient and effective operation of rinks, including personnel management and training. Inspects and performs routine maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities. Oversees the opening and closing of seasonal facilities, refurbishment, painting, and repair of such facilities. Recommends equipment, materials, and supplies; maintains inventories and prepares requisitions. Monitors and enforces safety rules and regulations for seasonal employees. Maintains cleanliness and upkeep of facilities, including showers, restrooms, trash removal, and ground maintenance. Prepares reports, daily log sheets, correspondence, and memos. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications Minimum Entrance Requirements: At least two years of full‑time or equivalent part‑time experience in the maintenance and repair of recreational facilities or recreational management. Substitutions: A certificate, diploma, or degree in building construction technology, electrical engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, or mechanical power engineering may substitute up to one year of the required experience. Special Requirements: Current and valid CPR certificate issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; Current and valid Standard First Aid and Personal Safety Certificate issued by the American Red Cross.
