As a Salesforce Developer/Architect you will be building and maintaining applications on MassDOT Salesforce org. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation currently uses Salesforce as a key application platform for various MassDOT divisions. We are looking to expand the power of Salesforce and develop new apps for our business units at MassDOT. You will be challenged by a wide variety of projects including legacy database transformation, new custom apps, and more.

We are seeking someone with excellent technical and communication skills who can interface directly with internal stakeholders, understand their needs, configure, and customize the platform to meet new/changing business requirements. This position will be responsible for ensuring that we are maximizing efficiency and capitalizing on all the features and benefits of the system based on various business needs. This position will promote adoption, keep current on new releases and AppExchange solutions, and act as the primary contact and a subject matter expert on complex and/or critical system issues and processes for MassDOTs Salesforce environment.

Qualifications

  1. 10+ years of experience building on Salesforce platform
  2. Hands-on experience defining system architecture, identifying gaps between current and desired end-states, and delivering a comprehensive solution that will enable achievement of the desired business outcomes
  3. Experience developing advanced Apex/Lightning components, advanced complex triggers, Visualforce pages, SOQL, SOSL, scheduled batch jobs and SOAP/REST Integrations
  4. Must have extensively worked on the development of advanced complex triggers, Visualforce pages, scheduled batch jobs and SOAP/REST Integrations
  5. Hands-on experience in administration setup, e.g., managing users, security controls, and data as well as creating roles and profiles
  6. Security - Setup Profiles, Permission sets, Field level security Role hierarchy based on Organizational needs, in addition to sharing rules
  7. Experience creating reports using various types and dashboards
  8. Data Management: Experience in uploading/clean-up data using data loader. Experience creating validation rules, pick list values, and lookup filters to help ensure data quality
  9. Experience customizing Account, Lead, Contact, Opportunity, Case objects. Experience configuring lead mapping, Setup account and Opportunity teams, setup Assignment rules, auto-response rules, and escalation rules to improve Sales and Service productivity/adoption
  10. Experience implementing several utility frameworks Object copy, rollup summary, Custom Email App etc.
  11. Experience implementing customer facing community portals
  12. Architect and design API enabled gateway for Salesforce web services
  13. Process Automation Leverage Salesforce workflows and Process Builder to help automate dozens of manual processes.
  14. Experience in designing custom objects, custom fields, picklists, page layouts, workflow, approval processes, validation rules, custom tabs, Visualforce pages and email generation according to application requirements
  15. Strong understanding of Salesforce configuration capabilities and the ability to recommend best practices and identify areas where custom development is required
  16. Experience authoring requirements, definition, design, and other related project and system documentation
  17. Strong understanding of environment management, release management, code versioning best practices, and deployment methodologies
  18. Experience with Agile methodologies and running projects on Agile
  19. Ability to communicate with customers and provide consultation on Salesforce solutions
  20. Good problem-solving skills and ability to give optimal solutions

Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as primary System architect and developer for the Salesforce environments
  2. Hands on configuration and development in addition to providing architectural oversight
  3. Provide solutions to business requests and design required architecture
  4. Handle administrative functions including user account maintenance, reports and dashboards, workflows, and other routine tasks
  5. Respond to end user issues, enhancement requests and other administrative needs
  6. Coordinate the evaluation, scope, and completion of new development requests
  7. Manage existing and new integration of applications to Salesforce
  8. Work independently with members of the user community to define and document development requirements
  9. Effectively act as the liaison between our users and application development team
  10. Complete regular internal system audits and prepare for upgrades
  11. Work with line of business partners to establish suitable processes to support development and change management activities
  12. Assist in training of new users, and grow the Salesforce skill set and adoption across the organization
  13. Design and build high-performance, reusable, and reliable Apex code with best practices
  14. Write test classes for the class that you develop and ensure more than 80% code coverage
  15. Test bug fixes to make sure they work as per requirements, then deploy them to production
  16. Take ownership of project work and developing client relationships
