Position Overview
Leads the onboard execution of RCG’s public health program, ensuring compliance with US and international health standards.; Provides guidance to onboard teams, maintaining regulatory readiness and promoting best practices.; Identifies health trends, communicates findings to shoreside Public Health and the fleet, and supports ongoing education and training.; Demonstrates strong judgment, regulatory knowledge, and excellent communication skills.;
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.; Minimum 2 years’ shipboard experience in Public Health, Food & Beverage, Microbiology, or Environmental Health & Safety.; Proven shipboard managerial and leadership experience.;
Preferred
Master’s Degree or equivalent.;
Skills & Knowledge
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms).; Exceptional organization, multitasking, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.; Keen attention to detail; able to work independently.; Excellent English communication skills—oral, written, and presentation.; Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.;
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Readiness: Ensure ongoing compliance with USPH, Public Health Canada, EU SHIPSAN, ANVISA, and internal SQM standards. Act as an onboard expert and educator.; Public Health Surveys: Conduct regular assessments of guest, crew, and operational areas—Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Spa, Medical, Water Systems, and Pest Control.; Inspection & Compliance: Review USPH reports, track corrective actions, and coordinate with shoreside teams for timely resolution.; Infectious Disease Management: Assist in outbreak investigations, mitigation, and containment strategies.; Partnerships & Education: Work closely with shoreside Public Health leaders to share updates, provide training, and mentor onboard personnel.; Risk Assessments: Conduct biannual Public Health Risk Assessments, plus additional assessments during ship repositioning or special events.; Policy Updates & Communication: Stay current with health policies, communicate changes fleet-wide, and provide feedback from the ship to shoreside teams.; Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement: Collect and analyze infection data, identify trends, and develop action plans for health improvements.;
