Required:Bachelor of Music with emphasis on piano. A familiarity in accompanying choirs and vocalists in performances, classes, rehearsals, and lessons. Any combination of experience and training which has led to proficiency as a musician.
Knowledge of fundamentals of harmonySkill in playing piano as an accompanistAbility to sight-read musicAbility to read chords Primary Responsibilities:The Music department is seeking a part-time piano accompanist to accompany 2 hours of individual voice lessons per week.
The staff accompanist will provide accompanying support to vocal students by playing piano for voice lessons, voice classes, vocal juries, rehearsals, and performances. Texas Law requires a 60 day waiting period before new state employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance.
