We are a fast-paced litigation firm handling insurance defense and related civil litigation matters across New York and New Jersey. Our team values efficiency, strong communication, and high-quality work product. We are seeking an experienced Paralegal with an Insurance Defense background who can also support essential daily office operations.
Position Overview
This position blends traditional litigation paralegal duties with light office management and administrative support. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in assisting attorneys through all stages of litigation, from pleadings to trial preparation. Experience with NYSCEF, electronic filing, insurance defense, and general office coordination is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Paralegal & Litigation Support
• Draft, prepare, and organize pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery demands/responses, and correspondence
• Track case deadlines, court dates, filings, and client updates
• Manage electronic filing in state and federal courts (NYSCEF, EDDS)
• Assist attorneys with deposition, hearing, conference, and trial preparation
• Maintain and update case files, calendars, and document databases
• Conduct basic legal research when needed
Administrative Support
• Provide administrative assistance to ensure efficient office workflow and timely completion of tasks
• Help coordinate document handling, communication, and office procedures as needed
Required Qualifications
• 3–5+ years of litigation paralegal experience, ideally within insurance defense
• Strong knowledge of New York Civil Practice Rules, motion practice, and discovery procedures
• Proficiency with NYSCEF, EDDS, and other e-filing platforms
• Excellent organizational skills and sharp attention to detail
• Capable of managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with legal software such as CARET Legal, NetDocuments, Microsoft Office, or similar tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience
• Background in insurance defense, personal injury defense, or civil litigation
• Experience with trial preparation and document management systems
• Familiarity with office operations or supporting basic office management tasks
