PACKER & TRANSLATOR (SPANISH LANGUAGE SUPPORT)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Packer & Translator plays a dual role by supporting production operations through product handling and providing translation between English and Spanish to help team members understand instructions, safety rules, and training content.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES - PACKING
• Insert correct weight or link count into packaging pockets.
• Inspect for defects and sort rework/inedible product.
• Set up and operate tape/box machines.
• Assist with equipment disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly.
• Follow GMPs, HACCP, USDA, and company policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES - TRANSLATION
• Provide real-time verbal translation for supervisors, HR, and team members.
• Translate safety rules, SOP instructions, training content, and daily updates.
• Assist with onboarding by interpreting instructions and ensuring comprehension.
• Translate simple written items (announcements, postings, updates).
• Help reduce miscommunication and support cultural inclusion.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bilingual: English & Spanish (required).
• Production or food industry experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and confidentiality awareness.
• Ability to read and interpret labels, SOPs, and safety materials.

WORKING CONDITIONS
• Cold environment (45°F).
• Standing for entire shift; repetitive motions.
• Moderate noise; PPE required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Bend, stoop, reach, walk, stand for long periods.
