Empath Health is currently seeking a Music Therapist to join our team.

Field based position

The Music Therapist

  • Collaborates with the IDT to implement a plan of care for patients and families, with the approval of the physician, utilizing music therapy.
  • Provides supportive social services and bereavement services as determined by the patient/family needs and the interdisciplinary Plan of Care.

Position Requirements

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Music Therapy from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years paid experience in music therapy preferred, with emphasis in psychosocial field preferred.
  • Credentialed as a Music Therapist – Board Certified (MT-BC) preferred or eligible to sit for the exam within first 90 days of employment.
  • Music performing proficiency and ability to create an effective therapeutic environment for Patient/Family.
  • For field-based positions, employees must have reliable transportation which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. Must provide proof of valid automobile insurance, a copy of which will be placed in the employee’s HR file.
