Lecturer Pool - Psychology - College of Letters & Science Position overview Salary range: Salary: Commensurate with college teaching experience, in accordance with the current Unit-18 lecturer salary scale and its provisions. The posted UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. See the following table for the salary scale for this position . A reasonable estimate for this position is $70,977-$117,315.
Percent time: Part time or full time
Summer Sessions appointments are handled on a by-agreement basis.
Academic year - A co-taught course typically results in a 17% appointment, single course typically results in a 33% appointment. Appointments may vary from 17% to 100%, depending on the needs of the department.
Anticipated start: Positions usually start in January, various times throughout the summer and August
Position duration: One semester, academic year, or Summer Sessions

Position description The Psychology Department at University of California, Berkeley, is generating an applicant pool of qualified temporary instructors (“Lecturer” title series) to teach courses in the Department of Psychology. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the Psychology Department.
The Psychology Department is committed to creating an inclusive environment, one that is supportive of all individuals. The department seeks candidates who can support the success of all students through inclusive curriculum, classroom environment, and pedagogy
Teaching Responsibilities
We are seeking outstanding lecturers who can teach a range of possible courses that vary in size and subject area. Subject areas include the ones listed below (but are not limited to).

General Duties
In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include (but are not limited to) managing graders and/or graduate student instructors (teaching assistants), holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and maintaining a course website. Those teaching large courses are expected to work with, meet with, and mentor graduate student instructors.
Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
PhD or equivalent international degree, or enrolled in PhD or equivalent international degree-granting program at the time of application.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
PhD or international equivalent degree by the start date.
Preferred qualifications A track record of distinguished teaching that supports the success of all students through inclusive curriculum, classroom environment, and pedagogy.
