Internal Medicine Physician at MedExcellence summary:

This position is for a locum Internal Medicine Physician providing Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments primarily for Veterans in Houston, Kentucky. The role involves conducting mainly interview-based medical evaluations with some physical assessments, maintaining documentation, and working on a PRN basis from the physician's own office within a 50-mile radius. Candidates must hold an active medical license in Kentucky, be proficient in METs testing, and either hold or be willing to obtain DMA certification.

Job Title: Locum Physician - General Medicine

Join a dedicated team in Houston, Kentucky, working to support our nation's Veterans. This locum physician position will involve performing Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. The practice focuses on providing essential services to those who have served, ensuring they receive the evaluations they need. Candidates will work from their own office locations, with requirements to operate within a 50-mile radius.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct one-time non-treatment C&P exams and separation health assessments.
  • Perform primarily interview-based exams with some physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
  • Maintain proper documentation of evaluations and submit required reports, including addendums.
  • Complete ongoing follow-up administrative work related to exams and assessments.
  • Work on a PRN basis, selecting shifts of 4 hours or full days of 8 hours.
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in METs testing, evaluating and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
  • Active and unrestricted full medical license in Kentucky.
  • Must be willing to complete DMA training to achieve DMA certification.
  • Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine preferred.
  • Ability to work from own office and travel as needed.
License and Certification Requirements:
  • AANP Certification.
  • DMA certified or willing to become certified.
  • Provide current home address for presentation purposes.
