Company Overview:
Radiac Abrasives, a leading manufacturer of conventional bonded and superabrasive grinding wheels is looking for a Human Resources Manager located in our Oswego, IL facility. For more than 100 years, Radiac has delivered industry leading technology and quality products and service to the metal finishing industry. Radiac is a TYROLIT Company that is owned by the Swarovski Group which is headquartered in Schwaz, Austria.

Additionally, employees are eligible for PTO, Paid Leave and Holiday Pay. Annual Salary range for this position is $80,000 to $112,000.
Position Overview:
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support to all levels of the organization, with a focus on employee relations, recruiting, benefits administration, performance management, compliance, and HR systems. This position serves as a trusted HR partner to manufacturing operations and leadership, ensuring consistent application of policies, adherence to federal and Illinois employment laws, and a positive, safe, and productive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Compliance
• Lead employee relations efforts, serving as the primary HR advisor for management and employees on all workplace issues and policies within the Oswego location.
• Conduct and oversee investigations, provide guidance on corrective actions, and ensure fair, consistent resolutions.
• Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and proactively identify policy updates to maintain compliance.
• Assist in developing, updating, and communicating HR policies and employee handbooks.
• Oversee HR documentation and recordkeeping, ensuring confidentiality and audit readiness.
Recruitment & Onboarding
• Manage full-cycle recruitment for exempt and non-exempt roles, including job postings, interviews, reference checks, and job offers.
• Partner with department leaders to understand workforce needs and provide guidance on effective hiring practices.
• Coordinate onboarding, new hire orientation, and safety training for all new employees, ensuring compliance with Illinois new hire reporting requirements.
Benefits & Leave Administration
• Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401(k) plans.
• Support annual open enrollment, benefits education sessions, and employee communications.
• Coordinate and track employee leaves of absence (FMLA, personal, military, etc.) in accordance with company policy and Illinois state requirements.
• Ensure benefits and payroll processes are coordinated, accurate, and compliant with Illinois Equal Pay Act requirements.
Performance Management & Training
• Lead the location performance management process, including goal alignment, mid-year reviews, and annual evaluations.
• Provide coaching to managers and employees on performance and development opportunities.
• Identify and implement training and leadership development programs to build capability and enhance succession readiness.
Safety & Workers’ Compensation
• Partner with the Safety Department to maintain a safe workplace and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Manage Workers’ Compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
• Promote wellness and well-being programs to support employee health and retention.
HR Systems & Reporting
• Maintain HRIS data integrity and support reporting needs (Paycom experience preferred).
• Prepare reports on headcount, turnover, safety, and other HR metrics.
• Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and enhance system utilization.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
• 4–6 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of federal and Illinois employment laws and regulations.
• HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• High degree of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HRIS systems (Paycom experience a plus).
