Kinsa is recruiting for a: FSQA Supervisor / Meat

Location: Greater Los Angeles area, CA (Onsite)


The FSQA Manager is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance within a meat processing environment. This role oversees daily FSQA operations, manages the team, and ensures all programs-including HACCP, GMPs, environmental monitoring, raw material controls, and product release-are executed consistently and effectively.

  • $90,000 - $120,000 base salary range

Key Responsibilities and Goals:
  • Oversee daily food safety and quality assurance functions, including raw material and ingredient management, preshipment review, and product release.
  • Monitor plant operations to ensure adherence to food safety and quality programs, including GMPs, sanitation audits, HACCP checks, and product quality evaluations.
  • Collaborate with corporate FSQA, finance, and supply chain teams to close NCRs and manage returned or defective product.
  • Manage COA requirements, environmental monitoring programs, swabbing, and product testing according to internal and customer requirements.
  • Place product on hold when necessary and conduct daily held-inventory checks.
  • Prepare routine and special reports documenting testing results, quality observations, swab tests, finished product testing, and HACCP audits.
  • Administer the product recall program and manage disposition of returned product.
  • Oversee inspection of incoming raw materials and ingredients and manage lot traceability.
Competencies Needed for Success:
  • BA/BS degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of FSQA experience in food manufacturing, preferably meat or protein processing.
  • HACCP certification or equivalent required.
  • Strong understanding of GMPs, HACCP, food safety regulations, lean manufacturing, and quality systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, shifting demands, and tight timelines.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed; frequent weekend work may be required.
