The Role We Want You For

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Facility Manager with 3–5 years of professional experience to oversee the day-to-day operations of our facilities. The ideal candidate will ensure that all building systems, workspaces, and services run efficiently, safely, and in alignment with organizational needs. This role requires strong organizational skills, vendor management experience, and the ability to balance operational priorities with strategic facility planning.

The Specifics of the Role

  • Manage building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety) to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards.
  • Oversee daily facility operations, including cleaning, security, and space utilization.
  • Conduct regular inspections and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers for repairs, upgrades, and ongoing services.
  • Negotiate service agreements and monitor performance against contract terms.
  • Assist with office moves, space planning, and workstation setup to maximize efficiency and employee comfort.
  • Support food services, conference room setups, and office procurement (furniture, supplies, etc.).
  • Track facility expenses, forecast budgets, and manage cost-saving initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and maintain facility-related documentation (permits, licenses, compliance records).
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Support building security measures, access control systems, and emergency preparedness plans.
  • Full-time, on-site role with occasional after-hours responsibilities for facility emergencies or scheduled maintenance.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3–5 years in facility management, building operations, or related field.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of building systems, workplace safety, and maintenance best practices.
  • Ability to manage vendors and negotiate service agreements.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and facility management software (e.g., CMMS).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Certifications such as IFMA CFM, FMP, or OSHA Safety Training are a plus.
  • Experience with capital project planning or space allocation strategies.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
