• Greeting patrons: Ushers may be the first person customers see when they enter a venue.
• Helping patrons find their seats: Ushers may help patrons with limited mobility or other special needs.
• Ensuring safety: Ushers may ensure that aisles, walkways, and seating areas are clear and safe.
• Handling tickets: Ushers may collect and verify tickets, or sell or collect admission tickets.
• Assisting with emergencies: Ushers may help guide patrons to exits or provide other assistance in case of an emergency.
• Providing customer service: Ushers may help resolve customer concerns, such as seating disputes.
• Cleaning: Ushers may perform light cleaning, such as cleaning up spills.
• Notifying supervisors of problems with facilities, supplies, and venue
• Searching for lost articles or parents of lost children
• Operating refreshment stands
• Distributing programs to patrons
• Managing informational kiosks or displays
