Position: Marketing Director Location: Boulder, CO Job Id: 3301 Avery Brewing Co., a family-owned craft brewery established in 1993 in Boulder, Colorado, produced approximately 55,000 barrels of beer in 2018 and employs around 160 staff across Restaurant, Production, Sales, and Admin sectors. Marketing Director Purpose of Position: As Avery’s Keeper of the Brand, you will create, direct, and oversee all sales programming, marketing initiatives, and communications. You will lead and energize the marketing team to align with our established brand and drive brand development amidst rapid growth. Reports to: National Sales Director Responsibilities: Develop and execute Avery’s Vision, Brand Positioning, Voice, and consumer insights to enhance brand perception. Manage communications for sales and marketing, including content creation across all media forms. Collaborate with the National Sales Director to develop sales programs and supporting materials such as activations, POS, and promotional content. Lead strategies to increase consumer loyalty and attract new customers, expanding the Avery portfolio. Oversee media, PR, external relations, and manage outside agencies for marketing, PR, and digital media efforts. Supervise content creation and copywriting, including managing creative briefs from concept to execution. Prioritize projects aligned with business goals and evaluate marketing effectiveness weekly. Build and maintain relationships with distributors, retail partners, and consumers. Maximize POS material relevance and placement. Operate within budget constraints to meet goals. Ensure commitments to fans and customers are fulfilled. Directly supervise a marketing team of five. Candidate Expectations: Strong understanding of the three-tier system and its role in sales & marketing. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator, social media, VIP/SAP, and other relevant software. Commitment to ongoing education and market trend awareness. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. In-depth knowledge of the craft beer industry. Certified Cicerone or similar certification preferred, with the ability to educate diverse audiences on craft brewing and Avery’s offerings. Minimum Requirements: Over 5 years of experience in marketing and brand management. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field. Strong retail and wholesale math skills, including understanding of profit margins, pricing, and discounts. Valid driver’s license, insured vehicle, and ability to travel to accounts and events. Physical ability to perform duties involving lifting, standing, and climbing. Effective time management and multitasking skills. Represent Avery Brewing Co. with integrity and enthusiasm at all times.
