Back-Office Medical Assistant Responsibilities

  • Greet patients courteously, followed by rooming, taking vital signs, charting, taking histories, and asking additional relevant questions
  • Perform EKG, vaccine/medication injections, ear lavage
  • Assist while provider is performing physical exams and procedures
  • Organizing and maintaining patient records in a HIPAA-compliant manner
  • Managing prescription requests
  • Recording and restocking medical supplies
  • Maintain sanitary condition of the office daily
  • Submitting referrals
  • Administrative works including answering phones
  • Other relevant miscellaneous responsibilities
