Overview American Sign Language Interpreter (W2 Position) – Universal Language Service, Inc. Job Title: American Sign Language Interpreter (W2 Position) Position: American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter Type: W2 Employment Hours: 20-25 hours per week (flexible schedule) Location: In-Person and Video appointments Rate: $35 per hour Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to join our team. This role involves providing interpretation services for in-person and both pre-scheduled and on-demand video appointments. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to facilitating effective communication and possess the necessary certifications. Responsibilities Provide ASL interpretation for clients during in-person and video appointments. Work with clients to ensure clear communication and understanding. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines of interpreting. Collaborate with other interpreters and professionals as needed. Stay updated on best practices and advancements in ASL interpretation. Qualifications RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) or BEI (Board for Evaluation of Interpreters) certification required. Experience in interpreting in various settings (medical, educational, etc.) is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work flexible hours but hours of highest volume at 9am to 4pm PST Perks Competitive pay at $35 per hour. Flexible working schedule. Provision of necessary interpreting equipment.
