Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager is responsible for overseeing all billing, collections, and customer payment activities for Nomad Internet. This role ensures that customer accounts are accurately billed, payments are processed efficiently, and delinquent accounts are addressed in accordance with company policy. The position is responsible for managing the AR team, maintaining internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies, and partnering with operations, billing, and customer support to optimize cash flow and reduce delinquency rates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Manage all aspects of the AR process, including billing accuracy, invoice generation, collections, and application of payments.
    • Review aging reports daily to identify delinquent accounts and initiate appropriate collection actions.
    • Oversee customer credit limits, account suspensions, and reinstatements in collaboration with the billing team.
    • Build, lead and mentor the AR team to ensure timely collections, accuracy, and adherence to company policies.
    • Set goals, establish performance metrics and conduct regular reviews to ensure high-quality output.
    • Provide training on communication standards, escalation procedures, and compliance practices.
    • Ensure accuracy in customer billing, adjustments, and credits within accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Chargebee, and Stripe.
    • Reconcile AR sub-ledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis and assist in month-end and year-end close activities.
    • Maintain compliance with internal audit requirements, GAAP, and federal and state financial regulations.
    • Develop and maintain standardized processes for outreach on overdue accounts, including scripts and escalation steps.
    • Collaborate with Customer Retention and Billing Support teams to ensure consistent customer experience.
    • Manage relationships with external collection agencies and ensure compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
    • Prepare weekly and monthly AR reports for executive review, highlighting key trends, aging metrics, and cash collection performance.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize AR turnover and minimize write-offs.
    • Support financial forecasting and cash flow modeling based on receivables data.
    • Work closely with Billing, Technical Support, Accounts Payable and Operations to resolve account discrepancies and customer disputes.
    • Partner with IT and Finance to enhance AR automation and reporting systems.
    • Participate in system integrations and policy updates related to invoicing, payment processing, and account management.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in accounts receivable, credit management, or collections, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks , Chargebee , Stripe , and Microsoft Excel required.
    • Familiarity with ERP, CRM, and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow , Salesforce , or Zendesk ) preferred.
  • Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of GAAP, accrual-based accounting, and AR best practices.
    • Experience managing high-volume billing environments, preferably in telecommunications, SaaS, or subscription-based businesses.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage competing priorities.
    • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and accountability.

Performance Metrics

Success in this role will be measured by:

  • Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) reduction targets.
  • AR aging compliance (percentage of current vs. past-due receivables).
  • Accuracy of monthly reconciliations and reports.
  • Collection efficiency and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Team performance and adherence to SOPs.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time position (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. CST).
  • Hybrid or on-site work from Bulverde, TX office as required.
  • Standard office environment with occasional extended hours during month-end or audit cycles.


Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000 annually (commensurate with experience).
  • Eligible for company benefits including health, dental, vision, paid time off, and disability in accordance with company policy.
